Dear Mark Empson, I found your website doing a search on my Great Grandmothers family the Empson's

Her name was;
Annie Empson,
Birth: Jan 1864 Leafield, Oxfordshire, England.
Death: 6 Jan 1944 96, Banbury Rd, Kidlington, Ploughley, Oxfordshire, England.

She married my Great Grandfather
Henry William East,
My Mothers Grandfather.

Would love to link our two family's together, My 13th Great Grandparents were Sir Richard Empson & Lady Jane Hill,
there son Thomas Empson 1466 - bef 1490 and his wife Ethelreda Wolston 1466- were my 12th Great Grandparents,
So as I said I would be very interested to be able to link our family together, and fill in missing parts of my tree in the Empson family line.

With Many Thanks. Keith Woolger.

Hi Keith

Great to hear from you.
I am sure that there is a tie up somewhere, but at present I am struggling to find a broken link.

My family have been based in the London area since around 1800 and I guess that sometime earlier they have arrived from up North which it appears is where most have come from.
There is a tradition in my family, that the first born son is a Thomas, I am a Thomas and my father was a Thomas and Thomas appears all the way back.

I am New Zealand based, my Grandfather emigrated from near Harrow in London.

Best regards,
Mark.

Hello Mark, Thanks for getting back to me, My family's line of Empson's first came from around Oxfordshire,
then moved down to Wales, Westminster London, Es**, Surrey and Middle**.
Can I ask who your Great Grandfather and Grandfather was so I can see if they are in my tree.
Best Regards
Keith

Hi Keith

Working backwards :

Thomas Mark Empson  (me)
  Thomas Arthur Empson b NZ
Arthur William Empson b 1887 Middle** England
Thomas William Empson  b 1853  London England
        Thomas Empson  b 11 Oct 1823  England
Thomas Empson  b 1796  Possibly Harrow, England,  m 4 July 1818 Harrow England
              possibly James Empson HuhHuh?

And that is where the trail stops at present.

I do have more detail if of interest.

Best regards
(Thomas) Mark Empson

I guess so with the same name, but I do not have a trail back beyond 1796 at present.

Best regards,
Mark.

Hi Mark, I am working on that trail, for you using your family line, and my Great Grandmothers line.
which go's back to Sir Richard Empson's Father Peter Empson,
hopefully will find the connection and will then pass everything on to you,

Keith
